My name is Emelie Joya, and I’m 26 years old. Thank you for taking the time to explore my career profile — I hope you enjoy getting a sense of who I am and what I’m building. I’m currently studying at Griffith University, working towards a Bachelor of Business while simultaneously developing my own business as a sign writer and a freelance website designer. I have a strong interest in graphic design and technology, and I genuinely enjoy creating work that blends aesthetics with purpose. Creativity has always been a core part of who I am. I think in unique, innovative ways, and I’m driven by the process of turning ideas into something real, functional and visually impactful. I encourage you to take a look at my linked in also if you would like to connect with me
I’m currently developing my own acrylic signage business, where I help people showcase their hard work by elevating the spaces they create for their business. I love being able to take a brand or environment and enhance it with thoughtful design, detail, and craftsmanship. I also enjoy working on wedding and event signage. There’s something special about creating pieces that become part of someone’s most memorable moments. Event signage isn’t just décor — it’s a keepsake. Guests take home pieces that feel personal, and the hosts walk away with something they can treasure long after the day is over. Creating work that holds meaning, beauty, and longevity is what inspires me.
I make decisions anchored in honesty, fairness, and accountability. My standards don’t shift with circumstances. My emotions towards an individual or an experience shouldn't define how you treat or perform in certain aspects of your workplace.
Kindness is part of how I engage with others. I prioritise empathy, positive communication, and supportive collaboration. To be kind is it costs nothing its something everyone has the ability to show no matter what age, gender or race.
I treat every opportunity as a platform to grow and expand my knowledge or experience. I focus on progress, and really embrace every opportunity as you never know what career or skills you can aquire and can arise from those opportunities.
Working closely with a civil engineering consultancy has given me hands-on, end-to-end exposure to what it truly takes to run a business. Supporting Inframatrix Pty Ltd fast-tracked my administrative and operational skills well beyond typical admin roles. I manage day-to-day administrative functions while gaining direct insight into business operations, workflow coordination, and decision-making at a company level. This role has provided practical experience equivalent to running a small business — from process organisation to brand development. In addition, I designed the company’s logo and am currently developing the website, combining operational understanding with visual brand strategy. This role has been my most valuable learning environment, offering real responsibility, accelerated growth, and a clear understanding of business ownership from the inside out.
I have worked across multiple administrative roles in fast-paced environments, strengthening my efficiency, adaptability, and ability to manage competing priorities under pressure. These roles sharpened my organisational skills and reinforced the importance of precision, time management, and proactive problem-solving.
My early work experience built a strong foundation in teamwork, resilience, and operational discipline: Kitchen Hand — Cactus Mexican Street Food (Cranbourne) Worked in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen within a small, close-knit team. Every role was critical, requiring accountability, communication, and reliability to keep operations running smoothly. Yo Get It — Operations & Safety Exposure Developed practical experience working with machinery, gaining a solid understanding of workplace safety protocols, equipment operation, and risk awareness. Party Host — McDonald’s Worked in one of Melbourne’s busiest drive-through locations, strengthening fast decision-making, strategic thinking under pressure, and customer service skills. This role demanded speed, adaptability, and constant situational awareness.
I actively build technical skills outside of work, with a strong interest in: App development Coding and programming Digital systems and emerging technology Technology is both a practical skill set and a personal passion, supporting my ability to work efficiently, adapt quickly, and think forward. Below are some programs i am very familiar with and use daily.
